Cravings are a signal from your body and once understood, they can be a great communication tool to see what your body really needs. A craving is often an emotion or feeling, landing somewhere in your body, but you THINK it’s a desire for food. Oftentimes, we don’t want to feel the emotion, so the easiest thing to do is eat. Eating makes everything go away and feel much better … so we think … but only in the moment!

Next time you experience cravings, start noticing what’s going on and if there are any patterns.

What is the craving about? Do they happen at the same time everyday? Did you have enough to eat throughout the day? Are you feeling emotional or stressed?

Once you decipher what your cravings actually mean, you can learn to live in relationship with your desires and heal your relationship with food. Cravings are typically your body and mind trying to tell you something much deeper, so take a moment to pay attention!
